2010 Promising Practices in Food Addiction Treatment

  • Healing the food addict
    • Learn how to recognize strengths and weaknesses in your recovery food program.
    • Identify problem foods and learn how to avoid switching to other addictive foods.
    • Find out how to differentiate between an internal and external locus of control.
    • Discover how other addictive substances and drugs can impact recovery.

  • Educating health professionals

We want to provide health professionals the tool they need
to recognize the signs of refined food addiction in their clients!

Our goal this year is to develop a Food Addiction Assessment Tool to be accredited by the Society of Food Addiction Professionals based on the American Psychiatric Association’s DSM-IV diagnostic criteria for substance dependence.

Your experience is very important.

    • Be part of creating an accurate, comprehensive, and useful Assessment Tool.
    • Provide health professionals with the information they need to recognize food addiction.
    • Contribute your experience with the seven diagnostic criteria including tolerance, withdrawal, and consequences.
    • Be part of a documentary "Do You Have Food Addiction"?
